Internationally-Acclaimed Talent Alteronce Gumby
Alteronce Gumby, will explore color as material, metaphor, and cultural language through art, film, and community engagement at The Loren Bermuda. This debut residency has been designed to foster artistic exchange, elevate local engagement with contemporary art, and reinforce The Loren Brand’s commitment to cultural dialogue and creativity through unique experiences.
During his time on the island, Gumby will immerse himself in Bermuda’s natural environment, artistic community, and cultural history. The residency will inform both his ongoing studio practice and his feature documentary films, continuing his exploration of the many dimensions of color.
Alteronce Gumby earned his MFA from the Yale School of Art and has participated in prestigious international residencies including the Rauschenberg Residency and Fondation des États-Unis in Paris. His work has been featured in ARTnews, Vogue, Frieze, Cultured, and DAZED. His film Color premiered in 2024 and has received multiple international film festival awards. He is an artist, filmmaker, and 2024–2025 Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant recipient.
