There are several rental options in the area, and many of the trails are bike-friendly, making it easy to pedal your way around the lake at your own pace. You can also join one of the guided bike tours that are available in the area, which will take you on a scenic ride around the lake while providing insights into the area's history and culture.

There are several rental options in the area for renting a kayak, canoe, or paddle board and the calm waters of the reservoir make it an ideal place for beginners to try their hand at these activities. You'll be able to explore the lake's many coves and inlets, get a glimpse of wildlife, and enjoy the peacefulness of being out on the water.

Although swimming is not permitted in Lady Bird Lake itself, the neighboring Barton Springs Pool in Zilker Park is a 3-acre pool that is heated by a natural hot spring. The sprawling pool is the perfect place for those looking to cool off with a swim during their Austin adventure. And if you prefer, you can always find a spot to sunbathe and swim at Loren’s rooftop pool deck
